  1. Why does it take so long to view the website?  
    There are many factors that affect the speed of the Internet. However, we have done extensive research and invested heavily in computer hardware, ensuring good performance of our site over a wide range of machines.

  2. What is the most optimal internet connection to use trading platform?  
    The minimum requirement is 56K bit per second dial-up connection. We highly recommend our customers to use broadband connection to enjoy a more reliable and faster connection.

  3. How can I be sure my account and personal data are securely sent through
SHK Online Trading Account?
 
    We understand the importance of security over the internet environment. The following security measures have been employed to ensure a high level of security is in place to protect your data:

a) Firewall
Firewall is a system designed to protect the resources of a private network from users from other networks. It is used to prevent unauthorised Internet users from accessing your information within our SHK Online private networks connected to the Internet;

b) 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption
SHK Online uses the latest encryption technology (128-bit encryption), the highest level of encryption commercially available used by most banks, to ensure that all data sent to and from our site is encrypted to protect your personal and financial information;

c) Password authentication
Login ID and password must be entered to authenticate your identity every time you logon to our SHK Online site. A separate trading password is also required upon placing of trading orders;

d) System idling session
If SHK Online trading engine is left idle for more than 150 minutes, the system will require you to re-login to prevent any unauthorized usage of your account.

  4. Do you have any suggestions on how to avoid unauthorised access to my trading account?  
   
DO change your login passwords (both member login and trading passwords) periodically;
DO adopt password that is easy to remember but difficult for anyone else to guess;
DO logout properly from your trading account after you have completed trading online;
DO NOT disclose your password to anyone or allow anyone else to use your password;
DO NOT leave your online trading page unattended, other people may easily obtain your account information from the computer screen; and
DO NOT use your birth dates, telephone numbers, I.D. card numbers or similar numbers as your password.

  5. How can I print out the screen for record?  
    If you are using IE, you can choose File -> Print and then select the frame (usually the lower in our case) you want to print.
If you are using Netscape, you can click on the frame you want to print, then choose File -> Print Frame

  6. I can access your site from my home computer but not from my office, what can I do?  
    Your office computer network is behind a firewall, which prevents certain sites to be accessed. Therefore, you need to ask your IT department to add our website to your company's list of accessible websites.

  7. Why the trading platform did not pop up after I logged in?  
    It is most likely that you have installed a toolbar/software, which has the "Pop-up Blocker" function, such that the trading platform cannot be opened. Please check if you have installed such toolbar/software, e.g. Google Toolbar, Yahoo Companion Toolbar, or Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).

To ensure normal functioning of our trading platform, we recommend below action:
  • If you have installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), please read point 8 to disable the "Pop-up Blocker" function.
  • If you are using Google Toolbar, you may
    • Always allow popups from our website (click on the "blocked" button in the Google toolbar), or
    • Uninstall the Google toolbar (you need to close all your browsers and login our website again after uninstallation)
  • If your are using Yahoo Companion Toolbar, you may
    • Disable the pop-up blocker (click on the Pop-Up Blocker button in the Yahoo toolbar, then uncheck "Enable Pop-Up Blocker"), or
    • Always allow pop-ups from our website, or
    • Uninstall the Yahoo Companion toolbar (you need to close all your browsers and login our website again after uninstallation)
  • For other toolbars/software, you may try out the corresponding settings.

  8. How to turn off the "Pop-up Blocker" in Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) Internet Explorer?  
   
  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. On the Tools menu, point to Pop-up Blocker, and then click Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.

  9. Why I cannot see the company chart in the main page?  
    There are 2 factors that may cause improper display of the chart:
  • If the chart window can pop up, but it did not display properly (e.g. it shows a grey screen), please click on My PC Settings to check if you have installed Java Virtual Machine installed in your PC.
    If you do not have JVM installed, please go to the Hardware & Software Requirements page to download and install.
  • If the chart window did not pop up, please check if you have installed any toolbar/software that have the "Pop-up Blocker" function, e.g. Google Toolbar, Yahoo Companion Toolbar.
    You may either disable the function or uninstall the toolbar/software in order to allow the chart window to pop up, please refer to Point 7.

  10. Why the streaming real time quotes cannot be displayed properly?  
    First, your Internet Explorer browser must be installed Java Virtual Machine (JVM), otherwise, the streaming real-time quotes cannot be displayed. Click on My PC Settings to check your JVM status.
If you do not have JVM installed, please go to the Hardware & Software Requirements page to download and install.

Second, please check if your PC is behind firewall. For different real time quotes service providers, you have to select different settings.
  • For QuotePower International Limited users, after you have login to the trading platform, click on Settings and select the appropriate settings.
  • For Infocast Limited users, after you have login to the trading platform, please click on [Please click here if you are behind a firewall]. If you want your browser to remember this setting, you should accept Third-party Cookies in your browser setting:
    1. Open Internet Explorer
    2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click on Privacy
    3. In the Privacy settings, click on Advanced, and then check the Override automatic cookie handling box and Accept Third-party Cookies. Click OK to save the setting
