  1. How do I open a trading account?  
   
There are four ways to open a trading account with us:
Open an account online is simple and convenient. Our Customer Service will contact you after you have submitted the application form online.
Send us a request and we will mail an Account Opening Kit to you.
Call our Customer Service Hotline (852) 2822-5001 to request an Account Opening Kit.
Visit our Office in person.
   
You are advised to review the "Client Agreement" in detail when you complete the account opening form*. When you submit the signed and completed form, please also submit copies of the necessary supporting documents.

*Important Notes

1. If qualified witness is available:
The Securities Trading Account Application Form must be signed by you as client and witnessed before an employee of SHK Online (Securities) Ltd, or before any other registered person, a Justice of the Peace, branch manager of a bank, lawyer, certified public accountant or Notary Public if you are overseas. When this Account Application Form is signed and witnessed by others than our employee, the witness must complete the Certification in the specified column of the Account Application Form.

2. For individual client where a qualified witness is not available
You can mail a Cheque payable to "SHK Online (Securities) Limited" to be credited to your account with us with an amount of not less than HK$10,000. It should bear your name as shown in your Identity Card(s) or Passport(s) drawn on your account with a Hong Kong licensed bank with an identical signature to that on the Account Application Form. Please note that the account will not be activated until the cheque is cleared.

3. Risk Disclosure Statement
Please pay special attention to the risk disclosure statements set out in the Client Agreement because depending on the product you are trading, significant and different levels of risks may be involved.

  2. What supporting documents do I need to provide?  
   

Hong Kong Individual / Joint Account
  1. Photocopy of Hong Kong ID card(s) or passport(s) of the proposed account holder(s)
  2. Proof of home address (e.g. utilities or telephone bills, bank statements, etc.)
Hong Kong Limited Company Account
  1. Copies of the HONG KONG ID cards/passports of: the Authorised Persons named in item 13 of the Securities Trading Account Application/ substantial shareholders/ ultimate principal beneficial owners.
  2. Address proof of residence (within the recent 3 months) of the directors/substantial shareholders/ authorized persons/ ultimate principal beneficial owners.
  3. A certified copy of the Business Registration Certificate of the Applicant.
  4. A certified copy of Certificate of Incorporation.
  5. A certified copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association or other constitutive documents.
  6. An accurate and up-to-date list of the current directors and officers.
  7. A certified copy of board resolutions approving the terms and authorising the execution of the Client Agreement.
  8. Deed of Guarantee and Indemnity or written waiver signed by a director of SHKOSL.
  9. If an ultimate beneficiary is not an Applicant, a certified copy of the Certificate of Incorporation and the Business Registration Certificate (if a corporation) or a copy of the Hong Kong ID card / passport (if an individual) of the ultimate beneficiary.
B.V.I. and other non-Hong Kong companies
  1. Copies of the HONG KONG ID cards/passports of: the Authorised Persons named in item 13 of the Securities Trading Account Application/ substantial shareholders / ultimate principal beneficial owners.
  2. Address proof of residence (within the recent 3 months) of the directors/substantial shareholders/ authorized persons/ ultimate principal beneficial owners.
  3. Certified copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association.
  4. Certified copy of Certificate of Incorporation.
  5. A certificate of incumbency, or Registered Agents Certificate identifying the current directors and officers, verified or issued by the registered agent of the Company.
  6. A Certificate of Good Standing or document to the same extent, showing if the corporation is more than 12 months old, a current copy of the receipt of license fee issued by the relevant Registrar of Companies, or a document remitting the fee and stamped as having arrived at the Registers office.
  7. Certified copy of Resolution of Companys Board authorising the opening of the account(s) and directors persons authorised.
  8. Details of the true beneficial ownership of the company.
  9. Deed of Indemnity from the controlling shareholder or another person acceptable to us.
Remarks:
  1. For Hong Kong Corporate Accounts: All copies should be certified by Director
  2. For Offshore Corporate Accounts: All copies should be certified by C.P.A or Solicitor. (Practising)

You will receive the following by mail:
A welcome pack with instructions on how to use our website
Account Number (8 digits)
Trading password (6-10 digits, changeable)
Deposit Services Card / Easy Deposit Card
IVRS password (6 digits, changeable) (mail seperately)

  4. Is there a minimum deposit amount for opening a cash or margin trading account?
